MICOP is hiring a Tequio Youth Co-Coordinator to support our Tequio Youth Group in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. This position helps guide our youth leadership work and supports Indigenous youth in organizing for justice, wellness, and community change.

💼 Position Details:
Pay: $22–$24 per hour
Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 403(b) with employer contribution, paid holidays, vacation, sick time, winter break, and more
Location: MICOP Office, Oxnard
Status: Non-Exempt

💡 About the Role:
This is a shared leadership position that involves organizing, advocacy, youth development, and program coordination. The person in this role will work closely with youth, community members, and MICOP staff to lead campaigns, coordinate events, and support youth leadership in schools and beyond.

💡 What We’re Looking For:

Bilingual in English and Spanish (Indigenous language skills like Mixteco, Zapoteco, or Triqui are a big plus)

At least 5 years of community organizing experience

Strong communication and facilitation skills

Experience with program coordination and youth engagement

Willingness to work some evenings and weekends

Valid driver’s license required

📢 MICOP is hiring a MILA Immigration Staff Atto 📢 MICOP is hiring a MILA Immigration Staff Attorney

The Mixteco/Indígena Community Organizing Project (MICOP) is seeking a dedicated immigration attorney to join our Immigration Legal Assistance (MILA) Program. This position will handle removal defense cases before the Immigration Court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the 9th Circuit Court, and represent clients in affirmative cases before the California Superior Court and USCIS.

We’re looking for someone with at least five years of experience in immigration removal defense, an active California Bar license, and a strong commitment to justice for immigrant and Indigenous communities on California’s Central Coast. Must be fluent in English & Spanish, ability to speak an indigenous language is highly preferred. 

Position Details:
💼 Salary: $115,000–$125,000 annually
🌿 Benefits: Health, dental, and vision coverage; 403(b) with employer contribution; paid vacation and sick leave; 11 holidays; and a two-week winter break
📍 Location: Oxnard or Santa Maria
🗣️ Language: Bilingual Spanish and English required, Mixteco preferred
