TEQUIO Youth Co-coordinator - Santa Maria
Mixteco/Indígena Community Organizing Project (MICOP) seeks to hire a Tequio Youth Coordinator. The Tequio Group Co-Coordinator position is a team effort leading the Tequio Youth Group program in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. Each Co-Coordinator will be responsible for the full range of manager responsibilities for one quarter (three months) each year. During the remaining nine months, the Co-Coordinator will collaborate with the quarterly manager and other team members to support the program and deliver the highest quality of service to the Tequio Youth Group. Quarterly coordinators will meet with the incoming coordinator to impart essential information as described in the quarterly responsibilities to ensure a smooth transition each quarter.

Periodista Comunitario de Radio Indigena


Mixteco/Indígena Community Organizing Project (MICOP) está contratando a un periodista de radio indígena. Mixteco/Indígena Community Organizing Project (MICOP) seeks to hire a MILA Immigration Staff Attorney who will work with the MICOP Immigration Legal Assistance Program. The MILA Immigration Staff Attorney is responsible for removal defense before Immigration Court, Board of Immigration Appeals, and the US 9th Circuit Court, and for representing clients in affirmative types of immigration legal status before the California Superior Court, USCIS.

Mixteco/Indígena Community Organizing Project (MICOP) seeks to hire a Controller to lead the organization's financial operations. The controller is responsible for managing all accounting functions, including budgeting, auditing, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal policies and procedures. This role also includes system administration and oversight of all QuickBooks Online functions; account reconciliation; tax and audit preparation; and contract and budget management, including tracking, forecasting, and reporting. The Controller will lead efforts to maintain and enhance internal controls, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support organizational transparency. The Controller supervises bookkeeper(s) and works closely with the Executive Director to facilitate financial oversight and to clearly communicate financial information to program staff and the Board of Directors. The Controller also assumes full responsibility for the organization’s financial functions in the event of the Executive Director's absence. This is a pivotal leadership role that supports MICOP’s ability to achieve its mission and programmatic goals through strong financial stewardship and strategic oversight.

Mixteco/Indígena Community Organizing Project (MICOP) seeks to hire a Bookkeeper. The Bookkeeper is responsible for posting various accounting transactions, such as invoices, payments, and expenses, in accordance with department procedures. The Bookkeeper works closely with the Finance Administrator, Executive Director, and the administrative team to facilitate financial oversight and ensure clear communication of finances to program staff and/or the board of directors. The bookkeeper also performs related general accounting duties.

Wage Theft Community Navigator Manager- Oxnard

Work sites for this position are chosen based on the program’s specific needs. MILA Immigration Education and Outreach Specialist - Santa Maria


Mixteco/Indígena Community Organizing Project (MICOP) seeks to hire an Education and Outreach Specialist (EOS). The Education and Outreach Specialist (EOS) is responsible for empowering members of the community by providing education and outreach activities that explain immigration remedies, and basic legal rights relating to immigration and local law enforcement, Referring individuals to qualified legal immigration service providers, holding workshops and participating at events that will benefit the lives of Mixtecs and other indigenous immigrants living in Santa Maria, coordinating with MILA staff in order to screen, schedule and interpret for MILA clients. This position will work under MICOPs legal program, known as MICOP Immigration Legal Assistance (MILA).

Wage Theft Navigator - Oxnard


Mixteco/Indígena Community Organizing Project (MICOP) seeks to hire a Wage Theft Coordinator in OXNARD. The tasks associated with this position will require the Wage Theft Specialist to provide expertise with the wage claim, judgment recovery processes, with a sensitivity for those who have suffered past traumas. The Wage Theft Specialist also will provide workers with positive experiences where they can obtain practical information to defend their rights and help to smooth the path to a successful claim.The Wage Theft Specialist will assist workers on the process of filing claims and recovering wages, in addition to prepare them to maneuver the processes and advocate for themselves including completing all the forms and research needed to resolve the wage claim.

DOULA de llamada- Servicios Sociales


Mixteco/Indigena Community Organizing Project (MICOP) esta contratando 8 personas para la posicion de Doula en Oxnard, CA. Las doulas son trabajadoras de parto que brindan: educación sobre la salud, abogacía y apoyo físico, emocional y no médico a las personas embarazadas antes, durante y después del parto. Entre estos servicios esta incluido el apoyo durante el aborto espontáneo, la muerte fetal y el aborto. Al final del programa, las doulas recibirán capacitación en RCP, HIPPA, cómo ser una doule y tendrán su propio Identificador Nacional de Proveedor (NPI) para poder facturar los servicios de Medi-Cal. Este puesto es parte de un programa piloto para ofrecer servicios de doulas indígenas en el condado de Ventura y es parte de una colaboración entre MICOP, el Centro Médico del Condado de Ventura y Gold Coast Health Plan.

Intérprete - Servicios de Interpretación e Idiomas


Mixteco/Indigena Community Organizing Project (MICOP) esta en busqueda de un Interprete con fluidez en Purepecha. La persona en este puesto brindará servicios de interpretación con el objetivo de superar la barrera del idioma entre las comunidades indígenas y los proveedores que atienden a la comunidad. Trabajar en esta posición requiere flexibilidad y disponibilidad para interpretar cuando sea necesario. Se llamará a los intérpretes cuando se requieran sus servicios, lo que puede incluir noches y fines de semana.
