Fatima Peña considers herself as a Ña Savi from the Universe. She was born and grew up in a small town named Santiago Naranjas, Juxtlahuaca, Oaxaca. In 2000 she immigrated with her family to the United States. When she arrived in Oxnard her first job was picking strawberries for the summer season. She graduated from Rio Mesa High School in 2004. Fatima joined MICOP in 2014 as a trilingual interpreter. She is currently MICOP’s labor advocate.
