Dr. Lorri Many Rivers has always been a life-long learner and a curious teacher, with tendencies towards the healing arts. She completed her PhD in Multicultural/ Multilingual Special Education, Rehabilitation, and School Psychology from the University of Arizona in 2000. Before researching and practicing complementary medicine, she worked in the fitness industry and taught children in primary schools and adults at the university while working on her doctorate.

After working for five years as a professor of Education in New Zealand, Dra. Santamaría was hired in 2017 to work for the Mixteco Indígena Community Organizing Project (MICOP) to Direct and serve as Principal Investigator for an MHSA Innovations project called Healing the Soul + Curando el Alma + Na Sándaeé Inié.  In this project, she leads a team of four Promotoras and upwards of six Curanderas (Mixteco community indigenous healers) toward the investigation and application of traditional healing practices of Mixtco Indígena community healers to remedy stress, anxiety, and depression for more than 500 members of the Mixteco peoples in Ventura County. Today, in addition to being an active professional wellness advocate, Dr. Santamaría is a seasoned researcher and published author in the fields of multicultural/multilingual education, social justice + equity in education, and educational leadership. 

As a Doctor of Philosophy and researcher, Dr. Many Santamaría continually investigates, tests, and incorporates the most effective, natural, ethical, and most highly evolved healing protocols to her rigorous professional training program. Other qualifications include Master certification in Second Degree Usui/ Holy Fire Reiki, the study of plant based essential oils (dōTERRA – aromatherapy, ingestion + topical application), Co-managing and teaching Reiki+Yoga classes and Full Moon Women’s events at Jai Rhythm Yoga and Soul Infusion.
